I grew up in a few small and some not-so-small towns within the greater metropolitan area of Columbia, SC, and spent most of my childhood climbing trees, hanging out in the kitchen of my dad's restaurants, and getting my hands dirty in community art studios. Good food, art and the outdoors have been common threads in my life (beautifully plated, delicious food consumed on an outdoor patio is pretty much my heaven). When I'm not pushing pixels, you'll find me expanding my palate through culinary creations (sometimes even my own recipes), exploring new territory, exercising and hanging out with friends.
I've worked as both a freelancer and an in-house graphic designer with clients and companies ranging from restaurant owners to global industrial organizations and everything in between. My more than 12 years of experience in the world of design and graphics have a foundation in fine art and print media, and have continued to evolve to include more digital and mobile canvases, with each new challenge proving to be more exciting than the previous. The bottom line is: whether it's B2B or B2C, print or digital, something brand new or revitalizing an existing brand, I enjoy creating beautiful design solutions for complex problems.
As far as a formal education goes, I am a graduate of the School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of South Carolina with a BA in Visual Communications and a minor in English. With a fine arts background from the South Carolina Governors School for the Arts and Humanities, these two formal education experiences combine my passion for getting my hands dirty with effectively communicated messages through art, design and language.
