Jack and Jill went up the hill... and got kidnapped by a zombie bird!

So it doesn't rhyme. But that doesn't mean my background illustration is any less compelling than the classic nursery rhyme we all grew up with (in fact, I find it to be much more entertaining!).

In this version of Jack and Jill, Jill is carried off by a zombie bird-of-prey, causing Jack to journey after her by boat, foot and helpful dragon. The Jack-dragon duo chart a course over the Garden of Eden, temptation in its purest form (Candy, of course!), and a chasm that opens up to the rage of an angel-demon war.

The zombie bird's destination turns out to be its nest, through which Jill crashes, conveniently tumbling to a halt at the dragon's feet. With a wave of thanks, Jack sets back off up the hill, hand in hand with his dear friend.

These are just the main highlights and plot points. Take a closer look to find monkeys ridding themselves of that pesky barrel, a nude beach, Nessie and some unfortunately placed Swiss musicians. Enjoy!

About.

I am Hollis Murphy: a visual communicator in these modern times.

Apart from my awesome illustration skills as seen in the background of this page (Have no idea what is going on? Click here for an explanation!), I also have mad program skills in: Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Apple Motion, FinalCut Pro, Soundtrack Pro, and Microsoft Paint (these are my "old-school skills").

As far as a formal education goes, I am a graduate of the School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of South Carolina with a BA in Visual Communications and a minor in English. With a fine arts background from the South Carolina Governors School for the Arts and Humanities, these two concentrations combine my passion for getting my hands dirty with effectively communicated messages through art, design and language.
